01

Information we collect

The details involved in using ethiobookr.

Your account

When you create an account we collect your name, email address and password. If you add a phone number, we collect that too. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identity details that provider shares with us, such as your name and email address.

Room holds and bookings

When you check availability or hold a room, we handle your chosen dates, rate plan, number of rooms and currency. If you hold a room without an account, we also collect the email address you enter.

Messages to us

If you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address and booking reference. Please don't send passwords or payment card details.

Technical information

Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers may record technical details such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you request. We use this to keep the service running and secure.

02

How we use information

Why we need the details above.

To run ethiobookr

We use your information to create and secure your account, show you stays and prices in your chosen currency, check availability and hold rooms for you.

To help you

We use your contact details to send account messages such as email verification and password resets, and to reply when you get in touch.

To keep things safe and reliable

Technical information helps us fix errors, understand how the service performs, and detect and prevent misuse.

To meet our obligations

We may process information where it is reasonably necessary to follow the law, respond to valid legal requests or protect our rights.

03

When we share information

The people and services that may be involved.

The property you hold or book

Stays on ethiobookr are provided by the properties themselves. When you hold a room or make a booking request, the relevant details are shared with that property so it can respond and complete the reservation.

Sign-in providers

If you use Google or Apple to sign in, that provider is involved in the sign-in. Their handling of your information is covered by their own privacy policies.

Service providers

We use hosting, infrastructure and email delivery providers to operate the service. They process information on our behalf and only for that purpose.

Legal reasons and business changes

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect rights and safety. If ethiobookr is ever involved in a merger or sale, information may transfer as part of that, with appropriate safeguards.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information.

04

Cookies and browser storage

What is saved in your browser, and why.

Staying signed in

When you sign in, your session details are saved in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits. Logging out clears them.

Third-party content

Some parts of the site load content from other services, such as the Google and Apple sign-in scripts, property and destination images, and the flag icons in the currency and language menus. Those services can see technical details like your IP address when your browser requests their content.

Your controls

Most browsers let you review and delete stored data. Clearing it will sign you out, and blocking some content may affect how parts of the site work.

How we protect it

We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse.

A fair note

No website or internet transmission is completely secure. Choose a strong, unique password and keep it to yourself.
